Critical thinking is more important than ever. How can I improve my skills?
Weβre told we need to think critically, to not fall for misinformation. Thankfully, itβs a skill we can practise and become better at.

Nick Cave Is Serving You Everything
Hrag Vartanian interviews the artist in his Chicago studio about his childhood, his evolving craft, and what he does to stay optimistic during difficult times.
βI grew up in a family of makers, from woodworkers to seamstresses to poets. I was always surrounded by a way of doing and watching things being produced from nothing. So it was just magic to me.β βNick Cave in the latest episode of the Hyperallergic Podcast

a bronze plaque of a man in armor who looks down at a dog sitting at his feet. the man pets the dog with his left hand. the entire dog and a little bit of the plaque surrounding him is shiny and much brighter than the rest of the plaque from hundreds of years of people petting him.
This plaque in Prague has been rubbed to a shiny gold because for centuries, passersby have touched the dog for good luck, and also to reassure him that he's a very good boy. 14/10

Dutton has the worldview of a Queensland cop, someone once wrote. We should take that seriously
Peter Dutton wasnβt party to any of this debauchery of Queensland Police under the reign of Joh Bjelke-Petersen. But he's every inch a product of the culture and politics of the time.
Opinion | Joh Bjelke-Petersen's Queensland was the political swamp from which Peter Dutton emerged. Anyone who thinks thatβs a worldview we should embrace either didnβt grow up here, is too young to remember it, or too foolish to care.

Sewing pattern for part of a shirt. It is clearly made from a dark brown manuscript page with small lettering written in two columns.
This is a sewing pattern. It is also a page from a late 14th century manuscript that is one of two primary sources for an important Icelandic saga (Sturlunga saga), but that was probably not important to the 17th century person who really needed a sewing pattern.
