Reposting to show that the #auspol hive mind is much more useful than Australia's journalist class, who are only starting to notice patterns that were obvious months ago
11.04.2025 22:41 β π 9 π 2 π¬ 1 π 01) I didn't miss any of those things
2) I didn't say I'm impressed with or voting for Labor
3) I was specifically talking about the most likely outcome of the election, which has changed dramatically in the past month
Australian journalists still predicting a Labor minority aren't connecting the dots
The Trump tariffs will strongly boost Albo's popularity and make the election about Dutton's danger
Dutton will sink with Trump. Teals will take more Lib seats
Labor majority is most likely

The Voices groups share a largely unified agenda as they tackle the macro issues the duopoly won't. Having a face for that agenda has been pivotal for traction. Occupy and the Voice failed because they ignored our primate need for a leader. It's utopian and it fails. My 2c. The book sounds good!
19.03.2025 03:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Good interview. One thing I think about though - we're hierarchical primates. Holmes a Court is an ideal figurehead. He generates wide media coverage, is persuasive, powerful, and principled. His press club speech was great. Look at Occupy Wall Street and the Voice. Movements without a leader fail
19.03.2025 02:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Someone needs to write a book connecting the recent right-wing legal disasterclasses in Australia
Porter, Roberts-Smith, Lehrmann, Pell, Reynolds (surely soon), now Sofronoff
Privilege: from the Latin 'Privus Lex', meaning private law
Not anymore

More likely, a civil case by a minority shareholder against Musk for breaching his fiduciary duty as CEO and causing them to take a loss. And that becoming a class action for unthinkable money. Musk and the board seem to have clearly breached their fiduciary duties to shareholders
18.03.2025 23:19 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Whether someone in Labor noticed my post or they did it on their own, this new ad is very good to see
The message must be hammered home throughout the election campaign:
Dutton can't be trusted to control Medicare
#auspol
The world's seen Trump's talent as a self-promoting con artist
Now we're seeing his talent at going bankrupt - four times so far - applied to the entire USA
Albanese's fear to criticise Dutton's brazen scandals could be the thing that sinks Labor
There's an election in two months
'Anthony Albanese has said his opponent Peter Dutton can "comment on his own responsibilities."'
Fucking spineless. Get a strong soundbite
www.abc.net.au/news/2025-03...
If Labor has any communication skills at all, they will blanket this Medicare election with the fact that Dutton was ranked the worst Health minister in 35 years by Australia's doctors
Labor needs to run this fact everywhere in slick ads for months

Yes but Labor also ran a truly terrible Voice campaign. Media didn't help but Labor's campaign was atrocious
16.02.2025 23:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0First election thoughts:
- Labor can't communicate well and misunderstands the public
- Labor has ignored the severe issues (housing crisis, cost of living, corporate price gouging)
- The public loathes Dutton and thinks Albanese is a weak coward
- Teals and indies are pivotal
#auspol
Australia: Labor please run a competent campaign for once so we don't end up with hateful bigot Dutton running the country
Labor: The best we can do is Albo branded mints for $10

The Age's daily vendetta against Labor deserves a daily commentary
It's never-ending, facile, and utterly bitchy by The Age's Liberal Party fluffers
Government spending on a newspaper's rapidly growing home state should be celebrated, not constantly attacked

04.02.2025 22:34 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Macnamara and Wills are key seats that Labor will struggle to hold
04.02.2025 22:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It will be groups like the teals, Get Up and the Australia Institute that run effective Dutton = Trump campaigns. I agree that Labor will be pragmatically somewhat more restrained, but the effective messaging will proliferate without them
04.02.2025 22:18 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Election prediction:
Trump will have caused so much chaos and destruction in America by the time of the Australian election that Dutton will be sunk by gluing himself to Trump
Add in one or two rate cuts and an effective Dutton=Trump ad campaign, and Labor will win a slim majority govt

The impact on X's traffic and ad revenue will be massive

The public is furious at inequality, cost of living and house prices, but only the right wing speaks to that anger
The public demands big action. Trump signed 20+ sweeping executive orders on day one
Huge lessons for Labor's upcoming campaign

Labor must go fiercely hard on the Libs wanting to give a foreign extremist full control of our national internet infrastructure
Musk releases private footage from Teslas & is an unstable security risk
Labor must scare to win the election

We've seen enough to know that neither major party will:
- Share our massive shared resource wealth with the public
- Make housing affordable
- Improve the NACC
- Run a Murdoch RC
- Stomp corporate greed
- Stand against genocide
We all deserve much better. Vote accordingly
