I especially want to acknowledge and thank everyone who showed up at a No Kings event today who lives in a small town or rural area. It is not always easy to publicly stand up for decency and freedom when in a smaller community. Your dedication to our democracy is truly appreciated.

One of the wonderful aspects of participating in an action like today's No Kings march and rally is being around so many beautiful people of like mind. All I felt from everyone was love, acceptance, and a sincere love of democracy and freedom for all.

I didn't take pics but the feeling of being in a group of people with no visible beginning or end was so thrilling. The opposite of online anomie, and a living counterpoint to the wary, isolated, compartmentalized world the shitheads want to make. It's simple and obvious I guess but it means a lot.

As far as single-day protest attendence, in comparison to peak single-day attendence of the BLM protests, wasn't it actually much much greater in size? iirc peak BLM single day was around 500k

"Hope and resilience are the enemy of fear. Our parents lived their lives with immense dedication to their fellow humans. This tragedy must become a moment for us to come together. Hold your loved ones a little closer. Love your neighbors. Treat each other with kindness and respect. The best way to honor our parents' memory is to do something, whether big or small, to make our community just a little better for someone else."
