So disappointing.
Archaeology and history belong to us all, not just the wealthy.
Has it been studied? Conserved properly? Published?
Just depriving the rest of us of knowledge and understanding.

A medieval illustration of a hedgehog with grapes skewered on its spines
It was believed in medieval times that hedgehogs had spikes so they could roll over fruit to carry home to their children, which is not true but is a really cute idea

Yet today he complains about his workers wages being too high.
I'm just so very tired of "a reasonable debate on immigration with firm but fair controls" always meaning performative cruelty and incredibly thinly veiled racism.

it's #SuperbOwl Sunday! Best day of the year. For your consideration, the Blakiston's fish owl. Largest owls in the world (six-foot wingspans, weigh close to a bald eagle), salmon eaters, live year-round in remote forests of northeast Asia. π¦

There's no reason to accept this as normal, though. Much of Starmer and Labour's unpopularity is not misfortune but his own doing. Mandelson was a choice. Consistently pursuing policy positions designed to appeal to people who will not vote for you - and alienating core supporters - is a choice.
06.02.2026 11:48 β π 935 π 204 π¬ 33 π 14For the House of Commons to swiftly and directly gainsay the Prime Minister on an issue of βNational Securityβ is actually quite a significant day in our recent constitutional history.
For MPs to insist that a parliamentary committee has priority over PM is a pretty big thing.
And a welcome thing.
Iβm not sure βour national security developed vetting technique can be beaten if a candidate is prepared to lieβ is an especially helpful line to push.
