Wait. I've been out of the loop because of medical issues. Are there actually people arguing that characters have agency that authors violate? And they're being taken seriously by the community? Authors violate the autonomy of their creations? Or am I reading that wrong?

I've had a soft spot for mantises since my dad showed me one when I was six. That's why I appreciate the pics you've shared so much. Yours are so beautiful, and I've learned so much from you.

I am so exhausted. Got home from the hospital yesterday. Finally picked up my new glasses today. Went out for brunch with my mother-in-law. Went from enjoying freedom to done with the world at record speed. Been a zombie since. And now my throat is starting to itch. x_x Do not want.

So far so good. The ICU nurses are all incredibly sweet. ER was busy af, whole lot of grumpy waiting. I got the best dance party in the noise tube (MRI). The worst part has been getting a migraine in the middle of the night

Left to get new glasses. Decided to go to the ER instead.

Medical stuff is further delaying my writing, because apparently my brain says I can't create while I'm scared. Gross.

Unfortunately the BBB doesn't do anything. They're just a consumer reporting service so that people can be aware of what a business is like to deal with, and we all know FedEx is garbage already. Reporting to BBB is like saying "I'll tell your mom!" to a 20-year-old.

Oh man do I NOT have time for "I got mine, so everyone else is beneath me" people.

I'm more of a "rising tide lifts all boats" person.

If you get your first book contract and use that to shame indies, you can crow to someone else, not me.

Really made my day, not gonna lie.

The vicious attack tortoise who lives in my backyard, viciously attacking a patch of grass.

I braved the outdoors. Our neighbor was flying a drone with his kids and they got it lodged in one of our trees. No worries, got it untangled pretty quick. But then we saw that our tortoise was hanging out in the open which made the oppressive heat worth braving.

My answer to that is, "Yes, my parents really should have aborted me, but here I am and I'm going to make that everyone's problem." I was abused though, so maybe I have a unique perspective.

Don't let them bring you down. I'm glad you're here. Live each day to spite the assholes.

The day I can survive comfortably without money, I will offer all my books for free and ask only accolades (or jeers, I suppose) in return.

I've always been wigged out by pharmaceutical commercials. Can't say why, but when I started noticing them in my 20s (back in the 90s) they were my "nails on a chalkboard" commercials. I've lived here all my life but it still feels like culture shock. lmao
