Pretty sure I talk to myself more wearing Apple Vision Pro than I do when using two screens at my desk. Not sure why.

Possibly because I'm "sat" in the Joshua Tree national park rather than in my office, at least as far as my peripheral vision is concerned.

If the app goes wrong or vanishes or forces subscriptions on me, it's all just markdown files in git. Works on all my devices, lets me link notes together and its just markdown.

Annoyed that my blog (software) is outdated and has bugs, but also updating it is a PITA.

Shoved it in the direction of an agent wired up to some LLMs and it did a worse job than my last attempt. Sigh.

I wonder if the easy option is to generate a new site from scratch, then copy content in 🤔

Took an early Sunday morning drive in the Z4 across into North Wales, because why not. Breakfast in Bala then cruised home in the traffic that had appeared by mid-morning.

Bought an Autel MK900-BT for scanning cars and getting diagnostic data/reports off it without using their cloud storage is irritating.

Finder still doesn't let you include ":" in folder/file names. You can create them through the terminal, but then they show as "/" in the Finder, which tells you how it handles compatibility I guess!

Trying out Claude-assisted development is kinda funky, kinda irritating. Using jujutsu is neat though, just run `jj new` after every prompt generation finishes and it builds up a list of changes without needing commit messages. Then squash/split as needed.

Checked into a well known mid-budget hotel recently, was amused to hear them asking for feedback by stating, “if you have a good stay, we’d love to get your feedback”. Suspect they have a policy to ask for feedback, but the receptionist also employs a subtle suggestion to avoid bad feedback. 😂

Feels like both yesterday and a lifetime ago 👻 1.8 compatible code still looks modern, although many changes since then of course.

My old office used to get way too hot in the afternoon, and I'd routinely work a later day then.

My new office gets way too hot in the direct morning sunshine, and I'm starting to routinely start my day early enough to notice.

Maybe I need two offices 🤔

I'd never really thought about it as a way to combat distractions, but I've gotten in the habit of adding reminders or notes via Siri (either spoken or typed) from the lock screen on my phone which does stop me being distracted. Also being ruthless with notifications being allowed or not.

There’s something special about driving across North Wales with the roof down in the afternoon/evening sun. Very enjoyable, especially with a screaming six cylinder ahead of me.

Cruised down to Malvern with the roof down in the Z4 to wander round the Morgan factory on a tour.

Amazing to walk round, hear and see the cars in various states during build and see the craftsmanship that goes into each one. Can recommend.

Finally there's the usual meandering in a meeting where a couple of folks are talking about something irrelevant to everyone else for more than a few minutes with others sat listening, a pointed "Do you still need us?" helps either head that back on track or the call to finish.

Also if you join a meeting and your attendance/skills/knowledge doesn't appear to be relevant, a polite "I'm not sure I can be of value here, do you still need me?" is a nice way to usually get an, "er, no" response and then you drop off to do something else instead.
