I'm making a lemon sugar wash - or alcoholic lemonade. It's boozy, it has a serious kick, and it's very easy. It's also the first stage of moonshine but I'm not going to the second stage as that's not legal and even if it was, it's loads of effort.

Brewing/baking/jam making is a great hobby in that people around me actually *want* the output, which I can't say has ever really been the case with my guitar playing.

My Paul Weller theory is that he actually became a better songwriter in the 90s as someone sat him down, maybe a producer, and told him him not to stuff so many words per second into his songs. He always had the talent, but suddenly he wasn't gabbling and the stuff flowed better.

It's funny but it's also dreadfully unfair. If you listen to that first album, that drummer was giving a lot of drive and energy to that band which they never had again.
