I think it’s a language barrier, although we’re all speaking English, sayings have different meanings over here. We are being fed a constant barrage of 🐂💩, funded & supported by Bannon & his cabal, fronted by Farage, telling us 💩 about how great the 🇺🇸 system is & that we should close our NHS.

Our pancakes aren’t like US breakfast pancakes, they’re more like French crepes. They can be filled with nice things like stewed apple or chocolate spread, rolled up & eaten with whipped cream or ice cream. Lent is supposed to be harsh, so doing this the day before uses up all the rich foods.

The pancakes we eat are more like French crepes than American breakfast pancakes, & can be stuffed with whatever goodies you have - if that clears anything up🤷🏻‍♀️

Shrove Tuesday is when we are supposed to use up all our indulgent foods; making pancakes that can be filled with whatever goodies you have in your house is the traditional way. Ash Wednesday, the day that Lent starts, is the day of fasting (no meat, no snacks, no treats). Two separate days.

I’m very fortunate, I have lived in a few places & all of them have been near the sea. I did visit family who live inland & felt penned in the whole time. They have an amazing 360 view of mountains & while I could see how beautiful it was, I couldn’t wait to have an unimpeded horizon again.

May I recommend Irish news media for a less biased but still English language medium. As an Irish person who lives in the UK, I was absolutely shocked the first time I read a paper over here, it seemed less like facts and more like opinion pieces. Even the BBC seemed to be telling me how to think.

He’s a very insecure little fella. He once punched a 49 year old man in the head because the man didn’t want to drink a shot with him. The man was just trying to have a quiet pint.

I suppose it depends largely on your situation in life. I used to work long nights in a hospice & special care home, for 8 months in a row. I’d go to work in the dark and come home in the dark, sleeping through any daylight. To this day the darker days still put me in a miserable mood.

Oh, I’ve enjoyed it so far too - even though I’m way past the target audience😁

I’m sorry for your awful loss. We’re never ready to lose our parents but when they go too soon it’s a heartache that stays with you. I lost my mum over the Christmas break in 1999, it took having a child to make me happy about Christmas again. My mum was only 53, I still miss her to this day.

My girl spent a week in ICU with RSV when she was 7 mths. I had brought her to my Dr twice to be told she’ll be fine. On day 5, I got home to find her quiet, barely responding. ICU Dr told me we almost lost her. She’s 23 years old now & has hardly been sick a day since,*

I think it was only 3 or 4 days ago that a woman in labour had to hide in the literal attic of a Birthing Centre in Minneapolis because ICE were circling the building. People hiding in attics…
