If only we could travel back in time!

Until that one year when I looked into the incubator and all the eggs had hatched... There were all these little eyes looking back at me as if to ask if I were their mother. I admit to a slight manly scream in the moment.

At one school near a farming area where I taught 6th grade, we would incubate eggs every year to try and hatch chicks. It never worked. After I realized the eggs were going bad, I would go to the farm supply and buy chicks and break some eggshells, so the kids never knew...

Well the Diocesan Convention is finally wrapped up. Lovely Eucharist at the conclusion.

It is at this service where we also annually renew our vows as priests... which is probably a good thing, because it's right about the one-year mark where I always feel I'm about to go rogue.

I felt so sorry for him.

I had a Montblanc ballpoint once. Someone had gifted one to each of my staff at the Teachers' Association. Our young intern was so excited, but lost his. He was crestfallen. I was unimpressed by Montblanc and gave him mine. He was in tears.

Well, the final day of the Diocesan Convention. Today, we're at Trinity Cathedral in downtown Reno. It is the Cathedral for the entire Diocese of Nevada. This is where I served 24 years (My school teaching and being clergy overlapped.)

And isn't that the difference between cheap and expensive items in a lot of areas? The artisanship makes all the difference.

Wow! Look at that, though! Amazing. Other than rich people, I would guess that maybe flight schools would have these.

It looks like if I buy one of the opaque pens, which is likely, I need to carefully read the details. Squeezing and syringing it's probably more than my laziness can overcome.

Oh. And with the cartridges you have to take them out and refill them manually, like with a little funnel? It sounds like I would spill ink everywhere.

These are pencils?! For £500, they'd better wash dishes and vacuum too.

So, two questions:

1) What is the difference between the $50 pens I have and some of these that are $250 to $400?

2) With the opaque pens, how do you know when you need to refill the ink, except when you run out? That seems to be a hassle.

Wow. Many, many typos. I arrived at the Cathedral too early this morning for the convention. It's still dark out. Dawn is just starting.

Wow! I see three or four I could snap up right now!

It's better than last time. Last november, I had my left knee operated on, am I right knee was bad so recovery was tough. This time, I have one really good need to support me.

Omigosh, that's great. Who said that?

The left one was replaced last year and is great. The right one is not liking convention and all the walking. Left knee: Like 16 years old; right knee about 84.

I knew the job was dangerous when I took it.

Wow! That is hardcore. These are so pretty, but I do like being able to see the ink level in my pens.

Amen to crunchy knees and too many people. I get my right knee replaced Nov. 3, and I'm at the Diocesan Convention today again. So many people, and my knees are unhappy. It ends noon(ish), and all I want to do is go home and curl up with a book with the cats.
