Interesting. When I started I went from printing with a fountain pen to cursive with a fountain pen finally to cursive with ballpoint. I think the removal of penmanship from school is what’s doing it. My kids can barely read cursive - because they had it for like 20 minutes in third grade.

Although I’ve seen an oenophile or two behave like an 11 year old where wine is concerned.

It’s a silly thing, but I have this irrational preference for the cartridge in my ballpoint pen to be the same brand as the pen. BUT since some brands kinda suck, I end up using an Easyflow or whatever, creating a mid disharmony.
