💯 I feel like I've never seen companies try to browbeat their userbase into using something so aggressively. Like usually when a big company is confident they have a good product, I feel like they trust users to seek it out on their own more.

And I know this is such a tiny complaint in the grand shitstorm of things but I really wish google would stop wasting electricity and my time just to lie to me about vegan pizza.

Snippets were way more useful! And sometimes my brain incorrectly interprets the AI answer as a snippet and I get excited before I realize that it's the AI overview and it's probably lying to me about the pizza I want.

Now when I google "is [insert food item] vegan", unless I remember to append "-ai" before I get to the results I have to scroll past a long paragraph of specious conclusions from the search results before I can see the actual answer, and I think that's pretty fucking stupid.

I also had that feeling, like this is kind of a mob tactic. Eventually (I hope) tech companies will realize that the shakedowns are just going to keep happening as long as they keep capitulating by donating. Appeasement costs more in the long run.

Yesss 10/10 pick. Game Programming Patterns is great and I go back to it a lot. It taught me so much I use in my own code and was a great introduction to some stuff the engines I was already using were doing under the hood.

As a developer that has been fairly public: we're not equipped to deal with the deluge of abuse and hate that comes our way - and I'm an indie, I'm literally responsible for my own choices. Can't imagine having to stand in that torrent for choices the stakeholders forced despite my objections.

I heard a bunch of people say this about NFTs a few years back and yet somehow people are still making games without them. 🤔

I loved my Samsung flip right up until I dropped it and it landed on the hinge and then I had a permanently L-shaped phone.

I'm seeing fewer posts about the Visa and Mastercard situation, and I want to make it plain as day. You need to keep calling and bothering them and losing them money.

Because if we lose this, they are going to cut more and more from what's available until you can only buy what they approve of.
