Which seafloor indicator to use?
We demonstrate complementarity, sensitivity, and specificity of 18 indicators in response to the pressure of bottom trawling using a shared dataset across different parts of European Seas

From the @icesmarine.bsky.social Baltic Sea Ecosystem Overview: "Average bottom-fishing intensity has decreased significantly since 2013. Average impact on benthic habitat and associated biota from bottom trawling has been low and declining since 2012."

How do we know how the seafloor is doing? Where is it healthy or degraded to the state that it's not functioning? How do we improve it in places where it's not good?
Here is what you need to know as a manager when choosing an set of indicator:

I've been at Greenland Institute of Natural Resources in Nuuk this week working on applying the ICES WGFBIT trawling impact assessment method to Greenland waters. It has been productive (and also an amazing country to visit).
