Casually saw Biden on the boardwalk in Rehoboth. He was very sweet, taking photos and chatting with people. The crowd grew very quick so secret service escorted him away after a bit. He seemed well, all things considered. Lots of cheers and thank yous and "I miss you"s.

Torn between devastated and weirdly relieved.

A federal judge here in NYC orders a halt to the termination of VOA staff pending further legal proceedings.

There were no words from security as we left carrying our belongings, just awkward shuffling and half smiles that no one believed.

We left silently, but there is still a lot more to say. #SaveVOA

There is no sound in the newsroom. Just empty desks and powered off computers. Some workspaces looked like they were frozen in time, coffee cups on top of notes, headphones ready to be picked back up and put on.

No sound from the forever repeating video on all the screens from the administration. No people milling about. No mixture of languages being spoken both on and off the air.

The broadcast clocks are still ticking along, but no one is there to deliver the news.

I feel like I should have something poignant to say, but as we turned in our badges and were escorted to our desks to collect things, there was just such a profound feeling of nothingness.

The complaint alleges that the defendants effectively shutdown VOA's journalism because they perceive it to be inconsistent with this Administration’s viewpoint. It has done so in violation of laws protecting our First Amendment rights and against Executive overreach. #SaveVOA
