I'm just so broken hearted. My dad has been sucked into the right wing void via YouTube. He is not the loving, intelligent man he was. He is a great father, grandfather and loves me. I thought the past few months, days would have shown him the truth. They haven't and I don't want to see him anymore.

Q. Does the election result mean that woke is broke?
A. I don't even know what the woke is. It's just a slur that the right wing uses.

Judith Butler is 100% correct. The word "woke" is pure reactionary bullshit. Its contemporary meaning also distorts history by making it seem as if every positive cultural change of the past 200 years has happened naturally, without agitation by people considered, at the time, dangerously "woke."

Please don't call what RFK Jr. and Jay Bhattacharya are going to do medieval. It's not medieval. It's nothing like the Middle Ages. People in the Middle Ages were happy to try all kinds of things to not die of the plague and if you'd given them antibiotics and vaccines they would have loved it.

How in the world are you going to say capitalism isn’t the problem when we’ve literally managed to cause climate change and a global mass extinction in less than 500 years of it existing?

Any system that demands constant growth and consumption is unsustainable.

I definitely don't remember my dreams often and they are not very visual. I just kind of know what happened but don't have clear images like others describe. Interesting dream experience, I became a wheelchair user at age 19 and I don't walk or wheel in most dreams, just kinda float

A handful of billionaires now have unprecedented control over banking, the food we eat, the health care we can access and, now, the information we receive.

This is what oligarchy looks like.

I read for hours a day, minimum 100 pages if I'm not distracted by my phone. I generally just sit at a table or counter so I have a surface for my water or coffee. I'm a wheelchair user and unable to curl up on a comfy armchair in front of a fireplace - that would be my ideal location

I just finished this one. I’m a little embarrassed admitting I had never read it before. So good. It’s hard to describe the feeling it evoked in me. A combination of happiness and sadness and of despair and hope for humanity. All wrapped in one. #booksky πŸ’™πŸ“š

sepia toned book cover featuring a young woman/teen sitting with her back to the viewer with her head bent down in despair, dark hair. she wears a black dress with the zipper undone showing her back, her hands are behind her back as if she's just unzipped it. The title is White Oleander by Janet Fitch which is in a messy white font, like paint or chalk maybe

Front cover of a book called Nurse by Peggy Anderson. The background is an out of focus female nurse in a white dress uniform walking down a dark hospital hall. At the top white capital letters say the true story that became a national best seller. The bottom third has the word Nurse in bright red letters and the name Peggy Anderson in white below it.

Forced birth in a country with:

β€”No universal healthcare
β€”No universal childcare
β€”No paid family & medical leave
β€”One of the highest rates of maternal mortality among rich nations

This isn't about "life." It's about control.

Im gonna say it again: music is VITAL to games. Music guides players. Music enhances emotional moments. Music is so so so important. Funny enough video games are modern operas in the way music is needed to buoy the emotional stakes.
