This smells like walking through a meadow in the fall, with the smells of lavender and other plants that have dried to olfactory perfection. Always lovely.

LA BELLE and LA BELLE LE PARFUM (Jean Paul Gaultier)

Fall weather calls for bringing out the ruby red mature perfumes. Both of these have ambery rich pear and possibly patchouli notes, but the le parfum version is muskier. I definitely like the original at the end of the day.

TRIUMPH OF BACCHUS (Argos)

Vanilla pipe tobacco, rum, leather, and saffron on a fruity background that changes between apple juice and grape juice. There's also a hint of patchouli. It smells decadent and expensive and is quite a mood in itself.

The weather is perfect for AMBERY MUSK. It's powdery amber, rose, musk, and bergamot that smells simultaneously modern and old fashioned. I feel like I need a tiny, yappy dog named Fifi when I wear this.

Interesting. My husband likes it, but the opening smells cheap to me. Maybe I'll let my sample sit a few months and try it again. I do like the jasmine dry down.

This is the original formulation, though. I've heard the newer version isn't as dark, which sounds disappointing.

I've been obsessed with LA NUIT TRÉSOR by Lancôme lately. It's gothy and dark, warm and comfy, and perfect for the cooler weather of fall. Classics are classics for a reason.

Every time I get something stuck between my teeth, I think how horrible it would be to be downloaded into someone else's body and have to deal with teeth that don't fit like my teeth do. Then again, I probably consume too much sci-fi.

SAINT JULEP (Imaginary Authors)

This was love at first sniff. A background of amber and resins with green herbs and evergreens on top. Not minty but makes my nose feel like it's experiencing crisp air on a winter morning.

Oh. Alexsandr looks nice. I never saw that one before.

It just doesn't last very long, which seems to be true with lots of juniper-based fragrances.

I've tried so many Arquistes, and this is only the 2nd that has wowed me and the first that's a must-have.

Coven smells most like clove cigarettes to me. Midnight Toker is supposed to, and while I love its smokiness, no cloves for me.

My holy grail because it smells like Eau Duelle EDT but doesn't disappear within minutes. Real juniper berries and resins on a subtle vanilla background. Yes.

Ah. Mine are generally alphabetized into art drawer compartments, or I'd never find anything. Well, sometimes they're vaguely alphabetized because I don't have enough light to always get it right. But at least the right letter is usually in the right drawer. I think I need something called Zombi. Ha

I've been doing this for a while with my whole collection and only have Y left (since I have no Zs). Those are 2 Yaras that I don't really like. It's been kind of fun to see what I grab and what I have no interest in anymore. I have more Bs and Ss than anything else, I think.

The weather is temporarily cooler, and I'm wearing this one for the 2nd time in a few days because I'm still in a non-hippy patchouli mood. The iris is the chalky kind, and the jasmine and berry notes also make this pretty.

My sample has gotten super dark and added a nice sweet cardboard note to this boozy patchouli vanilla classic.

Sadly, Dua's dupe of this, Sun-kissed Vanilla & Driftwood, doesn't do the original justice. The eucalyptus note is all wrong.

Ah. Now it makes more sense. Clever.

Yeah. It's pretty great. Certainly toward the top of the citrus tea category.

I'm intrigued. How does that bottle work?

A friend sent lots of Neroli-themed samples. So, it's going to be a neroli-filled week.

#SOTD: HEAVENLY NEROLI (Dua's dupe of Montale's Holy Neroli). It's purple, like grape soda, from the neroli & orange blossom. Then, there's a nice old-fashioned musk & a smidge of rose. Pretty.

NEROLI OUTRENOIR (Guerlain) - Soft citrus bergamot tea, similar to Monday. 2.5 hours.

NEROLI FROM ANOTHER WORLD (Dua's dupe) - adds a green citrus peel note I like, w/ more projection & longevity. Perhaps better than the OG

Oh, good reminder that I need to retry this one.

This is one that I can only wear in rainy weather because of how it morphs on my skin. But it's such a classic beauty.

A friend sent me a decant, & I was floored at how good it is. I passed on Bloom Profumo di Fiori in a swap box, but now I'm thinking I might like more of them, especially with the flankers being created by Alberto Morillas (of CK One & Daisy fame). I'll be waiting for your analysis of them!
