Energy debt takes up a lot of debt adviser time and causes misery for people who cannot afford these extortionate charges.

It’s time for the energy companies to start contributing to the provision of debt advice. And I’m not talking about ‘deals’ with a select few companies, I’m talking about a major contribution to the community debt advice funding pot.

£30million from MaPS isn’t enough.

The recent DRO Unit update on Tobacco & Alcohol spending in a DRO, had debt advisers scratching their heads in confusion. Today it was clarified. It seems this expenditure can be included if client's total costs are within the SFS spending guidelines

Has the world always been this mad or is it going through some sort of undignified mid-life crisis?

It doesn’t surprise me. But by that measure, I wonder how many people are in ‘roof poverty’ or ‘kitchen poverty’ or ‘appliance poverty’?
