A lineup of my characters from my project Kindred Sagas. The style is derived from shonen manga and jrpg design aesthetics. They setting is highly parallel to the early middle ages (roughly 500-1000 AD) in Europe and as such the character designs are inspired by peoples from that time period.

In order from left to right: Lova, Hakon, Amélie, Fionn, Osberht, Ramiro, Wulfric. Analogous real world ethnicities would be: Swedish, Norwegian, French, Scottish, Dutch-Nigerian, Andalusi/Mozarabic, Anglo-Saxon

In order from left to right: Sigmund, Marina, Saoirse, Ísrún, Joani, Roland. Analogous real world ethnicities would be: German, Catalan, Irish, Icelandic, Italian and Swiss

I made a sketch lineup of a bunch of my OCs from Kindred Sagas! I might do character profiles of them at some point

The beauty of Studio Ghibli comes from the delicate human touch each artist brings to it. The animation is just rich in atmosphere thanks to the impressionistic touch and algorithms cannot create something this lush, timeless, and vivid. It's why these films are so special.

Those ghibli a/i images better create the damning legal case to get rid of that shit fr. every single brand that could easily hire 1 artist for a work is shitting them out with CLEARLY COPYRIGHTED training data. Like c'mon ghibli go nintendo mode on them plsss.

If you like Nichijou, I highy recommend the manga. It has some of the most creative uses of the comics medium to tell jokes. My favorite is a chapter where the whole ensemble cast goes to a festival, and it's presented as 4 separate Where's Waldo-style splash pages.
