Same here in Canada! We went from cloth masks in April 2020 and by April 2021 we were in respirators. Not sure how YEARS can go by and people still don't know.

I’ve just read again the aerosol study on C19 carried out in Nebraska, in 2020.

They showed RNA in the air, on surfaces that could only be contaminated by the airborne route, and they even showed cytopathic effect and intact virus particles in cultures…

And this wasn’t enough to change anything.

And LTC homes! Masks required by all employees at my Mom's-all surgical masks and very oddly visitors don't need anything! Also of note the PSW that exited my mom's room when we arrived yesterday had hers under her chin. She put it on once she saw us. No enforcement.

Mine are same. Mom is 88 in LTC for 2 years. There's been 14 outbreaks in the home in that time. Mom has been in isolation too many times to count now. Baggy blues are mandatory right now but only on workers and volunteers NOT visitors. Nothing makes sense.

I've become a pro non shopper. We get almost everything delivered. Still we are constantly exposed at work, in healthcare etc. Never thought so few would care. Hard to be only maskers so often.

So disappointing when those with supressed/damaged immune systems also don't care. We always explained to kids that is part of why we get vaccinated. Friend with 2 cancers now gets ill 2-3 times a year does nothing to prevent. Family visits Mom in LTC mask free. We continue to mask and care.

Since every other flu is airborne and can be borne by the wind, and we have data on this going back a century, do you think we might stop treating it as some kind of novel hypothesis and start treating it like what it is: a fact?

Mom's LTC Niagara region has mandatory masks for all workers there. On entry the receptionist was seen wearing hers on her chin as she gave a tour. We did see PSWs on Mom's floor masked but saw several on our way up no mask at all. None were respirators other than on us. So tired of this.

Imagine if, every winter, water treatment stopped for 4months & people drank dirty water & overwhelmed our hospitals with vomiting & diarrhea. >65 & <5 most likely to die Imagine if the govt just called it "gastro season" & reminded people to vomit in their elbows #Influenza

Still no mention of masks....NGH in Simcoe has Covid outbreak back on 3B (Dec 12)-(3B "ended" one Nov 26) 4B has one started Dec 4...almost like outbreak one never ended....maybe people are not washing hands? Also 40 people in a Delhi ON LTC have Covid but no mention in our news.
