i just think saying "elden ring was a dlc" isn't fair compared to how much content was packed into that DLC

when some games DLC is like one quest and a fishing mechanic i get it, but i do think shadow of the erdtree was a unique case

and I'm also 100% in favor of just creating a new DLC category of the year too

my main point is that in the age of "dlc" elden ring could have probably been a standalone game, but they didn't do that and i think that's also cool of them

kinda a hot take that i mostly agree with

i could see why people love these games but i bounced off of them, cyberpunk felt STIFF to play, some weird drag and rough points for me connecting with actually playing the character

similarly with Witcher 3 combat, I'd get frustrated and start mashing

sports games that aren't sanctioned by major leagues need to make a return
