Youโre supposed to be pointing out this is the way Dems have leverage to reverse some of these cuts right now, man. This post is a Schumer style snooze fest. Highlight this is fighting and for what!!

27.09.2025 20:41 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The city should buy this portfolio and leverage Prop I revenue to make it happen. This would be consistent with the vision of the voters, the BOS, and our office in passing Prop I in 2020. Letโs seize the opportunity to jumpstart a real social housing program and do this now!

21.09.2025 21:30 โ ๐ 12 ๐ 5 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The main goal of transit is moving people. Collecting fares is how society has currently chosen to partially fund that. But the new gate and reader system puts fares over moving people. And that indicates a loss of mission focus on everyone's part.

15.09.2025 00:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0When cops "clean up encampments," the result is that a nonzero number of unhoused people will die from that violence enacted on them; what do you THINK happens to people already barely clinging to existence when you do that to them?
14.09.2025 14:40 โ ๐ 501 ๐ 109 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 3Theyโre awful!!! I think curtailing evasion is always a waste of time, but the gates donโt even make a meaningful difference to that at most stops. So we just wasted a ton of money on security theater to *inhibit* ridership. ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
12.09.2025 00:55 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yeah, I'm aware they're not the same, but it's more about advocates NOT framing Waymo and unemployment also as enemies yet OFTEN seeing blue collar workers or local citizens as enemies.
10.09.2025 22:35 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0We really gotta reevaluate a society where some of its "environmental" advocates are more concerned about the *potential* cost savings of automating public transit drivers than the environmental and social impact of the technology required to do that, assuming it is possible.

That includes the bridge lanes
This isnโt a good brag given all the line consolidation and overall ridership being down, though
24.08.2025 20:25 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0No idea! lol. Iโd def rather trolley wire (maybe a buried third rail in NIMBY hotspots like Burlingame) but still amazing they even tried it. And they could've extended it just a few blocks to connect it to PC/Caltrain (East/West transfers are STILL missing from most stations today)

We should even be talking about green infrastructure in suburban spaces. We USED to have it!
20.08.2025 18:24 โ ๐ 9 ๐ 3 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0โOur bill would provide $25 billion over five years โ $5 billion a year โ to support state and local transit agencies to create fare-free public transportation systems. Not here just in Massachusetts, but across the entire nation,โ Markey said.
20.08.2025 02:07 โ ๐ 408 ๐ 115 ๐ฌ 7 ๐ 9Why do we keep implementing more and more assistance programs when fares are only 3.6% of the budget? Itโs less than a quarter of the surplus we just had. Just get rid of fares. Albuquerque did it already. Zero fares also means 40+% more rides and 30+% safer rides for drivers.
18.08.2025 23:31 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I can understand but from here my efforts against reaction would get directed to the bike lanes in San Mateo theyโre already removing.

FWIW it's only our electeds that have this anxiety for no apparent reason. The GRT polls better in our counties. Our officials are just undemocratically plugging their ears.
16.08.2025 13:52 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Progressive taxation is about evening tax burden between the rich and the poor if not weighting it heavier on the rich. For example, original income tax was only on millionaires, just like this proposal. Low margin businesses can be a reasonable concern but are not a class.
16.08.2025 13:43 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 01. The tier was in the suggestion in the article you criticized. 2. A flat percentage tax would still be progressive 3. Itโs not just about consumer, itโs also about employee income, which payroll tax unnecessarily affects compared to GR. So it is wrong. This GR is flatly better. Just move on.
16.08.2025 06:17 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0And literature can be wrong. This is a proportional business income tax. It can be more progressive but it is factually progressive. You elsewhere suggested a payroll tax as more progressive when that is directly withheld from the employee. That is blatantly more regressive.
