Anyway, Digimon is arguably a nonbinary narrative, so let's be careful about labeling the intimidating sidekick a lesbian icon.

05.08.2025 06:30 β π 11 π 4 π¬ 1 π 0Anyway Sun actually did the poisoning because she was trying to make sure Jin stayed on the island? And then Walt admitted he burned the raft and Michael was cool about it? Idk it was all super anticlimactic and dumb.
A solid C episode, hopefully saving the juice for the finale.
I gotta say last Kate episode when we found out she killed the man she loved I was expecting the truth to be a lot more exciting than "he got shot by a municipal cop because he refused to get out of the car before I made a big getaway".
Her trying to doctor the dead lady's passport was clever.
The Kate flashback plot was actually pretty good! I think it's the first time we've actually seen her be an earnest person with earnest motivations in one of these flashbacks, even if it means finding out she's still hung up on her middle school sweetheart. But I guess he's hung up on her too?
28.07.2025 17:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Someone poisoned Michael's water? And Sawyer thinks Kate did it but Michael think Sawyer did it but, uh....I think Jin is involved too? This one really felt like spinning some wheels before the finale.
We're supposed to question how far Kate will go to outrun the consequences of her past actions.
Lost s1e22: Born to Run
This raft plot is so dumb. Stop talking about the raft. Why are people assuming they're willing to kill each other over this stupid raft. The raft isn't going anywhere. Shut up about the raft. Shut up about the raft!
Anyway on to "The Curious Case of Michael's Upset Tummy"
Oh! And this episode also had "Jack insists he can keep going after donating ??? pints of blood to a dead guy".
I feel like Jack's burnout plot would be more effective if it wasn't "Oh yeah that's a thing" periodically.
I think it's the big thing holding me back from really liking Jack.
"Shannon shoots Locke" feels like something that should be a bigger deal and will get swept under the rug. We'll see.
I liked the B-plot of Sawyer's voice being the only thing to calm Baby Turnip Head. We should embrace silly B-Plots and give them more screen time, as a society.
Overall a B- ep.
The present plot was fine. I appreciate that Sayid had the presence of mind to get more information before flying off the handle at Locke. Locke's speech at the Booneral was nice because it highlights that he does have a heart, he just isn't really socially apt. I like that side of Locke.
28.07.2025 17:07 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0...but would be more effective if we knew anything about this guy except that he's The World's Most Easily Swayed Man. Like we're supposed to believe he went from wanting out to willing to choose death over capture because Sayid passed a Bluff check? Come on, now.

I feel like the points you earn from "we have an arab main character who is not a terrorist" get walked back when you add "but he's BUDDIES with some terrorists, obviously".
The tragedy that Sayid is stuck here because he chose to honor his friend is nice and tragic...
It's a cool concept and Taichi's response to thinking he couldn't be hurt in the digital world was a really interesting insight into the character and growth, but it's frustrating how the nature of the show means that none of this stuff gets a chance to breathe and instead gets shotgunned out.
28.07.2025 03:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My big problem here is not the fact the kids are actually digital constructs, but the speed at which Koushiro jumped from "the digital world is the same size as earth" to "we're just data because I have a map of the entire globe's network travel" was iffy.
28.07.2025 03:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Episode 19 - Nanomon of the Labryth
This is another case of SUPER COOL IDEA, very questionable execution.
The kids find out the digital world is a digital world, and as soon as he gets word that he and his friends aren't real and their bodies are back in camp somewhere, Taichi's kind of a dick.
At this point, even they seem bored by crests, and I'm not entirely convince "drug children with hallucinogens in a magic tunnel" is the *best* training method, but hey, I'm not an expert.
28.07.2025 03:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Digimon Adventure E18 - The Fairy! Piximon
This had like 3 episodes in it and one of them were good. Taichi grappling with the guilt of agumon evolving was good, but I don't love "what if yoda mixed with Mr. Miagi and they were a flying pink guy"
I love this fact.
21.07.2025 20:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0*flashback plot only connected for a single LINE, sorry, haven't had my coffee today.
21.07.2025 17:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Love that Kate and Sayid just don't talk to each other anymore, presumably because the crew realized it was TOO STEAMY and they were giving viewers the wrong idea.
Flashback plot was dumb but everything else was good so I think this earns a B+.
The "oooh one person dies and another is born" and "oooh Jack and Locke both don't like being told what to do" were a little heavy-handed, but I get what they were going for.
Definitely another episode where the flashback plot only connected for a single episode, but Jack married Claire Dunphy?!
Lost s1e20: Man, and then the episode after THAT Boone dies? Maybe we should have hung on for two more episodes. Nevertheless.
A plane fell on Boone and then he died, that was pretty sweet. Also Jin and Charlie hugging it out after Claire's baby is born was hilarious.
Love "everything goes wrong"
Locke from Lost make up to look young with an absolutely dreadful wig and a spray tan that makes him look like a completely different person.
Lost s1e19: The first time we sat down to watch without mics and one of the first things we see is Young Locke in this absolutely dreadful hair and makeup, I did feel a ping of regret. It's so funny how bad it is.
Sawyer thinking he has a brain tumor also funny.
Solid episode, B+.
So by now you've hopefully heard our newest episode in the feed, and it's true: we don't have the energy to keep up how we'd like, so we're calling it quits.
However! We are still watching the shows in our free time just for fun, so we may post our thoughts here.
We are sorry to disappoint. We will probably intermittently post about our journey watching the shows just so anyone who's curious can follow along, the time commitment was recording and editing was just a bit much with our life right now and we didn't want it to become a chore.
21.07.2025 16:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Hey all, we've got a great new (unedited) episode with a special guest host waiting in the hopper, but we finished off the last steps of our move, ate steak, and then did nothing but watch sitcoms for a week. It's part of our process.
All of that is to say: new episode will be coming out next week.
KPop Demon Hunters on Netflix gets the Grant & Paige seal of approval. Not only is it gorgeous, fun, and full of great music, but it has small roles for Daniel Dae Kim and Yunjin Kim (Jin and Sun).
01.07.2025 00:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hey all, no new episode this week as we're still getting our groove back. The hope is this summer we can knuckle down and really get into a good release rhythm, but you know how the 2025 of it all is.
10.06.2025 16:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah, we decided swaps don't work quite as well for this show so we're trying out Random Stuff We Learned and Digimon Fashion Corner. It's a work in progress so maybe swaps will return!
04.06.2025 16:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0We're back! Sora spares Joe's feelings to the detriment of the group, while Sawyer straight-up stalks Kate, so it's a banner week for Men.
