“a movie abt how the wicked witch got her broom” well … no … it’s about a marginalized woman who stood in the face of years of vilification and oppression and internalized hatred and decided she didn’t need to carry any of that anymore

#some film critics (some of whom i really admire!) being smarmy about wicked and reducing it to something it’s not … see this is why criticism can’t just be all white men!!!

it is crazy how no matter how flawed a movie is if i feel like it’s healing my inner black girl it’s an automatic five-star affair for me
