EU Online Age Verification (Age assurance) been enforced from 21st July 2025 Some people may have labeled me a doomsayer when I raised concerns about this back in April 2024! Even boards.ie will need to comply with the rules/guidelines!

@irishgooner247.bsky.social If you are from Ireland, you should know that as 'X' has EU HQ here they are governed by EU Laws on Age assurance that came into effect 21st July.

With the current trend in 'Age Assurance' in UK/EU/AUS & 24 US states now enforcing or soon to do so. I can see more people getting used to idea of doing so. I checkout passport reader privacy policy before doing so. Have no intention of doing so with 'KWS'!

There is people on 'Xitter' demanding to be allowed to be verified, even with the privacy abusing age gate providers been used. I keep people informed of the risks of these systems. Also there is people who want even stricter EU rules and have petitioned the EU for them.

Who said I was in favour of 'SURVEILLANCE'? And other than trolling me, what have you actually done yourself to combat or to try and prevent/reverse these regulations? I was actively trying to make people aware of these rules since April 2024 or before. Even lobbied EU MEPS before the elections. ⬇️

If you took time to read the actual regulations, instead of reading the conspiracy theories and privacy advocates blogs about these you would see that if implemented correctly by the platforms they are designed to have privacy built-in and not the wild west methods employed by the platforms now.

Now more on Bluesky because for adult content must you now pay for premium account on x in Germany for age verification!! Because x react to a uk law that you see no adult contend in the eu without age verification and this you can only in x when you pay so… x bye bye

Already been enforced since the 21st July for VLOP's like 'Xitter', Youtube, Meta etc (9 Companies) that have HQ's in Ireland.

I have tried it. Wasn't an impulse decision! New about 6 months ago. But needed a new passport to be able to do it. So I did it in July. I got my passport especially for age assurance reasons if I needed it. So I had time to dig into the provider.

There use to be away to send a DM to alt, but they disable the feature if your Chats are restricted. You can still start a chat and copy and paste links.
