Intriguing nuggets:
-Heck reaction w/o Bronsted acid works by pi-stacking 'pi acid-type' preassembly of diArolefin with NHPI ester, detected by NMR titrations!🔎
-Heck rxn works in some case w/o photocat(!) when an Ar ring is tethered to NHPI
-Both rxns scalable to multimmol, both in batch⚗️&flow🚰!

Chemodivergence - what the Heck?🔎

Reactive 1° radicals from NHPIs are rare in Giese-type addns. We report💡photoredox chemodivergence after C=C addition&RPC: styrenes like Ritter carboamidations. 1,1-diAr-olefins go to Heck w/o acid:~30 examples each. Hot off the press ChemEurJ🔥
