Does Anchoring Work In The Courtroom? - The Decision Lab Anchoring is one of the most prevalent and enduring heuristics that we encounter in our daily lives. But do anchors affect how juries make decisions? Or judges for that matter?

If you’re trying to pick up a new skill, and you just aren’t getting it, ask yourself: when was the last time you ate? Or slept? Or took a walk? When the brain is tired, it will conserve energy by refusing to do things like learn.

The only time you should ever use a trick question in your assessment is if the learner needs to pick up the skill of answering a trick question. Otherwise, let’s not intentionally communicate poorly and the punish a learner for not getting it.
