Friday was a gorgeous day @ Central Park’s Reservoir w/ lots of happy birds in melting ice including 2 male wood ducks synchronized swimming under the watchful eyes of 2 mallards & the beautiful snow goose floating around with the large flock of Canada geese

Some duck action at the Pool in Central Park today with some gorgeous mallards & a wood duck couple with the male engaging in aggressive behavior against a male mallard.

All in all the ducks seem to be enjoying the non freezing temps - we got up to 56F today!

Very cold morning (windchill of 16F) with lots of birdlife at the Central Park reservoir trying to stay warm - caught the inseparable 2 male wood ducks huddling w/some mallards on ice in the cold wind & hundreds of geese on the move.

Today was a spectacular sunny though wind chilling day at the Central Park reservoir with most birds looking like they were doing well - I saw 3 male wood ducks & 1 female- 2 of the males were doing synchronized swimming! 😍

Nasty wet winter day in Central Park today w/freezing rain, lots of ice & sub-freezing windchill - nevertheless hearty mallards, northern shovelers, hooded mergansers & yes one of the wood duck couples all doing their best at the Reservoir.

A very iced over Central Park reservoir - from hundreds of birds yesterday to about 10 today - a few stray mallards & northern shovelers ducks - no geese at all - what’s going on? Are they elsewhere in the park or have they flown south because of the cold?
