So my hot take of the day is that the Wing Zero EW is such a downgrade design-wise from the original

The original: Simple, classic, well-aged

The redesign: Has big angel wings that don't look mechanical enough, yet despite having these wings, lost its Bird Mode

Decided to try getting back into art, so here's a Versusia from Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising! I simplified things slightly since I've been out of the game for a while, but overall, I'm not too upset at how this ended up.

I think most people with fat kinks don't think that deep, are taking a commission, just like the design, or some combination of the above. Agree that we need more fat Poison art though

Let me elaborate a bit on this: JMF is a game where every character has exactly four special moves, and unfortunately throws take up one of those special move slots. While a few characters have this problem, Skater suffers from it the worst, due to having no good way of inflicting chip damage.

So from what I've tried, I'm no good at Wilnas, but the first wave of EX characters actually feel distinct with their different 5Us and specials. EX Gran in particular does war criminal damage for little effort, as even I was able to get a 7k combo against a 3 BP opponent.

This reminds me of when I was hired to work on an NSFW fighting game project that fell through. One of the characters I conceptualized was a tokusatsu tribute so maybe if I were to reuse her it would be in a project like this

From what I've seen, the dev seems to be very well tuned into the workings of fighting games, and managed to make a unique project, so a part of me is sad that I can't play it without thinking about how bleak the whole package feels.

Recently tried a new fighting game called Area Zero, but the way it depicts the world, as well as the game's grappler being an evil police officer with no fantastical, comedic, or redeeming aspects to him, it all hit too close to home for me to the point where I don't feel comfortable playing it.

If you want a free-to-play fighting game, Duels of Fortune exists on Steam, sacrificing netcode and good sound design for no monetization, plenty of singleplayer content, and oh yeah, supers that feel like they ACTUALLY HAVE IMPACT

Alright so:
-they could have at least made it first person perspective to make the big issue less glaring
-they also could have just used a set of generic animations so this issue's just kinda inexcusable

ROBO OH's final update finally arrived, and after having this as my main fighting game for over three years, I got a bit emotional as I got through the final bit of content and thought to myself how there isn't going to be any more. Considering making a thread on some fun stuff in the game.

I know of a game like that only with classic horror stuff (so there is some overlap with Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, and Hyde), but unfortunately it uses AI-generated assets so it's off my list

Feels like the most positive things you could say are about either Nen Impact, maybe Iron Saga VS, or something you find on the depths of Mizuumi Wiki (I obsess over quite a few of these obscure or niche games).

All those good times. Nearly 35 hours of play, and now it feels tainted by the introduction of something I never wanted, something I didn't pay for. Some collab with a k-pop singer using generative AI being added as a commentator. It just saddens me to see.

A solid cast size at launch where everyone felt different. A good ranked infrastructure. Tons of accessibility features. Honest-to-god single player content. Detailed frame data in training mode. In-depth mechanics in a more grounded fighting game. It was all too perfect.

Incredibly disappointed by Street Fighter 6's decision to include a commentator made with generative AI. Two years ago, when I bought the game with the first season of DLC, I had high hopes. It seemed like everything I wanted from a mainstream fighting game.

Had a dream about Deltarune last night, it showed me a future chapter leak again. This time it's a world where everything's tiny except for the three heroes, the normal-sized buses, and Pizzapants, who was revealed to be Gaster's understudy?????

On the plus side, my disillusionment is motivating me to write my own stories about war and giant robots. I can only hope I'll finish one.
