While I have come to terms with how much Long COVID has taken from me, there’s no mistaking that it has taken a lot.

I have fairly mild long COVID and what that means in practice is that I can work but have no ability to socialise, I can do 5000 steps but have to come home with crushing fatigue and sleep for hours to recover, I volunteer for two hours a fortnight when I used to do volunteer work every day.

Winter has been so hard on my mind and body this year. Commuting in single digit temps in the dark while my body is already struggling with chronic fatigue and inflammation has been exhausting. Bring on warmer weather.

I rewatched all of Penny Dreadful just knowing how bad the ending is, that’s me in a nutshell.

TL;DR take the leap and make the hard decision.

Less rare than you think: you make a very difficult decision, and then when you check in on that decision some months down the track (to make sure it was valid and is still needed), you realise that it remains a very good and very necessary decision.
