After the Peregrine vs LTSkua battle I went home, made a coffee and settled down to see if a heavy shower had dropped anything into the back garden. Bingo! First garden record of Redstart! #ukbirding

2/2 Though the LTS had a noticeably smaller wingspan, it completely out-manouvered the Peregrine during the chase, not surprising considering the Peg was probably at least 3 times heavier! The Peg tried to reclaim it’s breakfast from the surface, eventually giving up! 1-0 to the LTS!

1/2 This am seawatch highlight was a Peregrine hunting a wader 500m out, it takes the prey but from nowhere a Long-tailed skua appears and pursues the Peregrine! LTS forces the Peregrine to drop the prey but instead of claiming its prize the LTS just continues nonchalantly on it's way! #ukbirding

Titchwell Marsh RSPB still busy with waders today. 22 species when I left with quite a few commoner species missing from that total. From the beach: 2 summer RTDiver, 2 common buzzards in/off and osprey. Hobby over Volunteer Marsh. πŸ˜€

Thanks for the info, I’ve now managed to post the topic in the community.

In addition to trouble signing into the desktop site (given up on), I can’t work out how to make a post on the community site. So here’s my question. Is it possible to change the colours on app soundscapes from barely contrasting purple on black to easily seen black on white? #BWPUC

Agree with everything you say. I can usually β€˜get by’ with techy stuff but not with #BWPUC
Could do with a simple guide explaining how best to interact with it. β€˜BWPUC for Dummies’ …like me πŸ˜‚

I am delighted, and feel privileged to have had one of my images selected by the BWPA judges for inclusion in this year's book, collection 13. Many congratulations to all of the winners.

It lets me sign in (apparently successfully) but then as soon as I try to interact with the site, it asks me to sign in again but rejects very same password I’ve just used or create to a new account.

I have so many issues and frustrations with my #BWPUC I’m on the point of throwing it in the bin! Let’s start with the very basics, how do I sign in to the desktop site and stay signed in?

CDC to study potential links between vaccines and autism despite research showing no connection It’s unknown whether Robert F Kennedy Jr, who has promoted anti-vaccine views, is involved in study

When people say science isn’t political, point them to this story.

A clear example of political interference - directing money towards a study to which we already know the answer.

There is no link.

An unusual request for the #BirdingGear feed! I knew my hearing was getting bad in last autumn’s vizmig, but it’s getting worse. Any birders out there who can recommend some decent hearing aids? Not worn any before. Help appreciated!

How Labour can avoid a one-term disaster: a Brexit and PR roadmap Britain is at a crossroads. The next general election may determine the fate of the country for decades to come. But Labour face a daunting…

If the Tory party gets back into power in 2029 - with or without Reform - history will judge Labour's brief spell in office an unmitigated disaster.

The Tories will be able to resume wrecking with a clean slate, courtesy of Labour ineptitude.

I warned about this in 2023.
