"You were taught?" he queried, raising a curious eyebrow.

"Ah. Poison. I see..."

Soma trailed off, eyes getting glassy. Clearly he was searching for some manner of answer. In truth, it was something deeper.

"Or perhaps, have you tried stealing blood donations from a local hospital-?"

"Good."

For it wasn't a request regardless of how he phrased it.

Soma would shadow her relentlessly.

"Miss Ivory," he requested, "Have you ever tasted blood from a corpse?"

Great ice breaker. 💧

Soma, as usual, was quite obtuse, and quite a buffoon when it came to picking up hints.

An innocent naivete of sorts, he chose to believe in the good of those around him- namely, those that many would consider threats.

He looked back at her.

"You wouldn't?" he asked, flashing a smile.

Yet. The word rang in his ears. Soma's eyes moved to the side, and he pursed his lips.

"I am not worried for my own safety," he said gently, but a somber smile riddled his lips.

The rest went unsaid.

"I'm afraid I must... keep an eye on you, as it were."

Stomach gurgling louder.

💭: Agh... curses. I may wield the power of Dracula, but even the mightiest of cold Arby's French fries can destroy my constitution!

She was cold.

He grasped her hand gently, and shook it happily.

He should have been more careful, yet he was more enamored with the idea of meeting a vampire so far from Castlevania.

"... Have you eaten-?" he asked quizzically.

💭: French fries...

His stomach grumbled.

💭: French fries sure sound delicious right now...

"Ashley, or... 'Ashe'. Thank you. You can call me Soma," he said with a small nod, offering his hand.

"Indeed. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, more of an observation!" he said with a laugh.

"Hm," he mused, nodding an affirmation. He averted his gaze, finding that the crowd was beginning to draw towards them.

"Ivory, then," he said with a smile, offering his hand.

"I am Soma. Soma Cruz. It's a pleasure."

And that caused Soma to chuckle.

"Needless to say- it was also rather confusing to me once upon a time.

He crouched down to Agumon's height, inspecting him with curious eyes.

"I am Soma. Soma Cruz. What is your name, friend?"
