Just went to Queenstown to pickup friends from the airport.

The traffic is terrible, lines and waits. The shops are empty and shopkeepers struggle.

Mountains are still beautiful above, but the town is spoiled. By growth. Growth is not progress. Planning to cap growth to a sustainable level is.

The only litter I found along the lake today, a large cardboard/plastic cup with plastic cap and plastic straw, ready to go in the water and pierce an animal's palate. McDonald's! I grumble as I pick it up "what are they thinking?!" Someone answers: "They don't think or they wouldn't get McDo"🤩🙏🫂

We are enjoying watching the Olympics Games in Italy on TV SkyOpen 5-6pm. Woah, how outstanding people.

I perceive a competitiveness beyond what the Games are about. Athletes hurt themselves. It's only about winning. The crowds are hysteric.

Good news: The High Seas Treaty came into force last month. It is a legally binding UN treaty designed to protect and sustainably manage the marine biodiversity in international waters covering two-thirds of the ocean. It's a big deal!
