I had the wonderful privilege to present our research again at the 2nd annual Elections, Public Opinion, and Voting Behavior conference at FSU! There were some absolutely amazing presentations today. And Iโm incredibly grateful to everyone who attended in support or to give comments!

There were some surprises along the way! Some of the most visible journals are setting the pace, I would imagine more journals will follow suit in the next several years

It doesnโt seem like much, but at the same time over half of all political science journals have some policy encouraging sharing even if itโs not a strict requirement for submission.

There's a lot of room for improvement, definitely. We compare our results with a similar study from a decade ago, and things are moving in the right direction. Sharing policies are common among the most visible journals. We just need to keep pushing for research transparency standards for everyone.

These issues with reading comprehension carry over into other important areas too, namely writing and research abilities. As a new educator it has been difficult to decide how much blame to assign to Covid home-learning and how much to large classes that donโt assign critical writing assignments.
