It's going to be a long march back home to our European friends. So much damage has been done. However, the best time to start is today and the next best day is tomorrow.
Of course.
05.08.2025 22:27 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I think, like Enoch Powell in the 1970s, GBNEWS
has mistaken its own anti-immigrant sentiment - its own institutional racism, we could say - for majority opinion. Its presenters - some of whom have links with the far right - are working hard to make the two align, under the nose of Ofcom.
Racists and xenophobes arenโt going to vote Labour now. Why not go for the decent majority?

One of the most striking changes Iโve noticed in the UK is the rise of racism and hate towards various groups. I see it online everyday. Words, views and threats used that 10 years ago would have been unthinkable.
More concerning is that I see little political action to stem this poisonous flow.
The reason why Lab will lose the next GE has nothing to do with JEREMY BLOODY CORBYN or whatever, itโs their total inability to provide a counter narrative to the RW guff.
I think Starmer in particular is incapable of it, heโs a void, he doesnโt believe anything & doesnt know what to say ๐ฅ๐น
I am very impressed with it. Long overdue.
02.08.2025 20:23 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0There were some very dodgy characters in old New Labour, but at least there were some heavyweights with principles.
You look now and wonder who would have the courage to negotiate the Good Friday Agreement, and the integrity to have their promises believed.
The problem with radicalised people is they are no longer open to logical discourse, factual information or able to think critically. Persuasion is not an effective counter. The fight must be taken to the source of radicalisation, to those who undermine decency only to achieve their own ends.

This is what happens when you ignore reality by supporting Brexit.
๐ฅ "The Labour government has the trust of just 21.9% of voters to manage the economy. According to the Britain Elects poll tracker, Labourโs polling on the economy is as bad as Liz Trussโs during her brief and hectic premiership."
13 years ago today, I snapped this while crossing London Bridge on my way into town.
Such a moment of optimism and pride in London and these islands.
So what this country needs right now.
They are racist lowlife and politicians have spent 15 years ever since โsome bigoted womanโ indulging their hatred and stupidity. This is the result.

Pretending to be a Poundland version of Reform isn't that thing. All that does is cement interest in the real deal...
But explicitly beginning the process to rejoin the EU? Yeah!
Have to do likewise. I can do a full day of things now but I do need to be very careful the day after.
