At RegARTless, we work to advance restitution and cultural justice, ensuring that heritage returns to the communities that gave it meaning. Restitution is not just about heritage, it is about dignity, dialogue, and empowering future generations to inherit an authentic and inclusive cultural legacy.

Museums are more than places to curate, preserve, and research they challenge us to rethink the past and the world around us. Afrocentric heritage management traditions and African museums not only protect heritage but also spark dialogue, inspire creativity, and strengthen identity
Martin Dibobe was born in Douala in 1876. At 20, he was displayed in a human zoo in Berlin. But he defied racism, becoming the first Black train driver in Germany. His love story challenged prejudice. In 1922. His story lives on as a symbol of courage and resistance.

Protecting textile cultural heritage isnโt just about tradition, itโs about climate action. By avoiding chemical dyes, we reduce pollution, preserve ecosystems, and keep ancient weaving practices alive. Culture + sustainability = resilience

Colonial legacies still shape our world fueling inequality and erasing cultures. True justice means not only remembering the past but building an inclusive future. Rising calls for restitution and reparations remind us: healing requires accountability.

Key questions remain:
What does true justice look like when history and memory are at stake?
How do we ensure communities are not just recipients, but partners in shaping the future?
This is not just about the past, it's about building a more equitable tomorrow.
The return of looted cultural heritages is a vital step in addressing colonial injustices. Yet, restitution alone is not enough. It must serve as the beginning of a new ethical relationship between former colonizers and affected communities, one built on respect, dialogue, and shared responsibility.

The world is watching, and accountability matters.
