2/2 Canada's implies for the common good, and America's implies a rugged individualism.

The worship and glorification of the concepts of individualism over connection, independence over interdependence, competition over cooperation, and self-interest over justice is what got us all here.

People often wonder about the differences between Canada and the USA - one of the biggest is in our country's defining slogans:

Canada: Peace, order, and good governance.

America: Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

So let's face the uncertainty head-on, think critically, and inspire change by being hopeful in the face of darkness. 2/2

As we emerge from a challenging year into a potentially even more challenging one, I've heard the theme of hope. It may seem counterintuitive in this climate, but when we realize there is great uncertainty, we also realize there's a greater possibility for rapid change. 1/2

The Pacific Northwest is receiving an atmospheric river combined with a bomb cyclone. Call me nostalgic, but I preferred when rivers remained on the ground and bombs were confined to battlefields.
