OK. Severance once again leaving me completely jaw-dropped.

Is there nowhere this show won’t go? No swings it won’t take? We’re only 12 episodes in to the show and the cards have been completely reshuffled—multiple times over.

What a show this is.

HURRY UP TOMORROW did not need to be 85 minutes long.

There’s some remarkable work on the album, but it’s all so sonically similar…the whole thing ends up feeling like a dirge of synths and dreamlike vocals.

At least DAWN FM had an interesting conceit and was conscious not to overstay its welcome.

One thing I've learned over the past 2.5 weeks: memory by association is so goddamn powerful. Songs, places, people, you name it. I never realised how many of my own memories are tied to...well, just *things* in the world. Both cool and heartbreaking at the same time.

Just finished rewatching ARRIVAL…because of course I’m writing an essay on it for a paper this term (I wasn’t going to get through 3 years of uni and miss that chance 😅)

I forgot how amazing the last 30 minutes of this film are. Propulsive, emotional. Sublime editing and score. A near-masterpiece.

Seeing The Brutalist in 70mm (again!) today. Reliving my Venice glory days. So excited.

Two weeks ago, my twin brother, Jamie, passed away. He was 21. Jamie was one of the strongest people I’ve ever known, & had a vitality that no one in a room could match. His grin & cheerful character were infectious, despite all the hardship. He made everyone he ever touched better. And I miss him ❤️

I’d be lying if I said this feeling isn’t intensified by the events of the last few weeks. I posted the news of my brother’s passing a few days ago on X, but it’s worth doing again here—I likely won’t be mentioning it again any time soon. I’ve always found the theme park community a massive respite.

Difficult to gauge how many people have permanently moved here from the Bird App, but I’m seriously considering moving here full-time myself. X just doesn’t make me feel good anymore.

The Universal Holidays Parade absolutely ROCKS. So long, incredible floats and performers and omg those BALLOONS!

(Potentially?) hot take: the Christmas Hogwarts Castle show is better than the regular one.

So. DVC Polynesian Tower. It’s quite stark; the pool is tiny (but nice!); the gym is great; the bar is amazing (also quite small); + the lobby is detailed but ultimately a bit bland & soulless.

I am quite surprised at how little I felt walking in, compared to the charm of the Poly next door.

Have come to Islands today for breakfast in the Three Broomsticks and Grinchmas! Excited for the show to start.

Just putting it out there: Universal Orlando’s (free!) Holiday offering is better than Disney’s upcharge event in Magic Kingdom.

Better decorations. Better music (fewer rubbish covers!). Better vibes. It just feels “more” Christmassy than the MK Party.

I haven’t even checked out IOA yet!

The fireworks were slightly underwhelming IMO. Rest of the family would’ve preferred to see Happily Ever After… (4/?)

One of my favourite things about the party was seeing the park transition from day to night. Tomorrowland was beautiful; we also caught the parade in Frontierland and loved it! (3/?)

We walked over to MK from the Grand Floridian and arrived around 3:15–were let through the turnstiles around 3:40 and in the park by 3:55. Great management of the crowds; I expected much worse. The park was quiet in the 4-7pm included entry period. (2/?)

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party was great last night—parade was brilliant; rides had super low wait times; cookies and drinks spots were a really nice touch. Here are some of my favourite photos taken during the trip (🧵 1/?)

Holidays Blues Brothers was superb—drew a massive crowd too. Having a great (super chill!) day so far.

Well, this is a bit unexpected: just got tickets for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party in December... I'm very excited!

Got a login for Bluesky all the way back when invites were a thing—never did anything with it though.

Finally decided to try it out and you know what? I like it! Much nicer vibe than X and most of the accounts I like from over there are here too.

Overall, a lot better than Threads.
