Still six weeks from taking office and Donald Trump has already brought down Bashar al-Assad. Will post hoc ergo propter hoc wonders never cease?

08.12.2024 13:44 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Of the last 5 Senate-confirmed SecDefs (Austin, Esper, Mattis, Carter, Hagel) 4 are frontline combat veterans. Three were decorated for valor and one was 2x wounded. So spare me this hero costume shit.
Funnily enough many people would agree the best of those 5 was civvie-4-life Ash Carter.
I dislike Ron DeSantis almost as much as Donald Trump, but he would be an acceptable Secretary of DOD. Military experience, Congressional experience, two term big state Governor. But Iβll be surprised if he gets the nod because he is, after all, Ron eww DeSantis.

If everything is outrageous, then the outrageous is normalized. Bondi is minimally qualified, and she will be confirmed. Setting yourself on fire about her is counterproductive.
22.11.2024 03:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Too thin, Iβm afraid.
22.11.2024 03:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Gaetz didnβt last even one Scaramucci.
22.11.2024 03:23 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The only chess Donald Trump plays is pigeon chess. The Gaetz debacle was just his usual chaos choreography, not a deeply laid plan.
22.11.2024 03:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Pam Bondi is not Matt Gaetz. A former prosecutor, big state AG for eight years, and a woman, she will be confirmed as sure as God made little green apples absent a gnarly skeleton in her closet. As much as it makes want to retch, Trump did win the election.
22.11.2024 02:59 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Gaetzβs karmic downfall reminds me of a piece of wisdom an old political hand offered me when I wore a younger manβs clothes: You canβt stick the bat up somebodyβs ass today and expect them to play ball with you tomorrow.

I don't watch them, but I do think it's a really bad sign when the supposedly anti-Trump conservatives roll out this kind of quisling bullshit.
"President Trump was cheerful, he was upbeat, he seemed interested in finding common ground with Democrats on some of the most divisive issues..."

Or both.
The Governor will call special elections in those Rep districts as fast as they can be scheduled to get reliable Trump votes to D.C. in time to participate in sacking the government. This contrasts with him taking the longest possible time when the vacancy was in a Dem district in a Dem House.
15.11.2024 19:48 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Donβt underestimate the opposition. Matt Gaetz is quite intelligent and creative. That is what makes him more dangerous than the average Trump myrmidon.

My 2 cents. Find every news source the has an RSS feed or equivalent and create accounts that that show their public deeds on here under @johndoetimesfeed
That way we all get access to news without having to wait for them to create accounts first.

βAs democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.β
