If there's even one bot with mass shifting, they're powerful enough to end the war singlehandedly. If this isn't a serious story and people aren't meant to think about it, that's fine, it adds to the weirdness that stuff like that just exists and no one questions it.

Transforming made them cool, but without constraints (like "stay the same size") it's overpowered. One bot could kamikaze shrink to the size of atoms and turn into a black hole, or grow until they become an iron fusion star. Or just.. triple in height and stomp everyone.

Mass Shifting isn't a serious concept. Any attempt to justify it is silly. It doesn't make sense. Transforming makes sense. Giving random bots Ant-Man's powers is absurd and humorous. It fits the tone of G1 well

They kinda look like rubber ducks in alt mode. The robot modes are cute and they look surprisingly good for something so simple and gimmicky. They're well painted, more paint at least than earthspark and transformers one mainline toys.

I just think they're neat.

Some of the Rescue Bots toys made Zero sense.
There were one step changers that changed from bots to cars of which smaller versions of the bots themselves were inside driving. Is this like a Headmaster situation? Idk.
