It has always bothered me watching rainwater run off down the street while we pay to pump our aquifers dry. Here is a solution from San Antonio that should work in east Texas. (IMHO, It needs a little cosmetic help, but the idea is sound.)

It stopped snowing here in Conroe. We got a generously estimated 1-2 inches. I'll take it. Snow can be beautiful coming down, is pretty when undisturbed, but after the first 30 minutes it starts to become a mess. It's still snowing in Houston, so lots of people will get a memorable snow event.

It looks like Conroe gets a snow day tomorrow. We only get snow here every 8-12 years on average. This one is supposed to be a big one. We shall see!
