A ★★★★★ review of Sinners (2025) There's one scene in particular (you'll know it when you see it) that left me in such profound awe that I literally got chills. Sinners is the kind of cinematic feast that reminds you how powerful fil...

I truly don't understand how anybody could think "Revolver" ISN'T The Beatles best album. Like, yeah nearly all of their albums are goated, but that one is THE goat.

A ★★★ review of Heretic (2024) Heretic's first half is nearly flawless. Amazing dialogue and tension build-up. Unfortunately when the terror turns to outright horror, it takes a significant dip. Nevertheless, Hugh Grant is fantasti...

Anora is an exceptional film that blends several different styles and genres near seamlessly. It does drag a bit in the 2nd Act, but the final 5 minutes may have sealed its Best Picture win. Incredibly powerful.

I directed a production of Glengarry back in college and my actors wanted me to add that scene and I was all "Mamet didn't want it so I'm not adding it". I did it in a small performance lab without an intermission and I stuffed 50 ppl in there. It added to the claustrophobic nature and it went well

It was originally a play and the writer David Mamet wanted Alec Baldwin to play Roma in the film adaptation, after the studio picked Pacino, Mamet wrote Baldwin's part exclusively for him and has refused to add it into the play, saying he wrote it only for Alec as an apology. Fun fact!

I now have an answer for the question "what would you do if you had a time machine?"

Answer: Make the studio take better care of the extra footage of Event Horizon so we can get a gnarly director's cut.

A ★★★ review of Scanners (1981) David Cronenberg's first major success in America was Scanners, thanks in no small part to its legendary telekinetic head explosion sequence (literally worth the price of admission alone). The rest of...

Legendary head explosion aside (which is magnificent btw), Scanners is solid, but not peak Cronenberg. Slightly overrated IMO, but damn...that head explosion is chef's kiss.

I wasn't impressed by the first one that much, but the sequels are considerably better imo. Yes the gore is QUITE absurd, but the practical effects and performances should be lauded.

My ENTIRE feed on this site is people talking about movies they love, shitting on Donald Trump, and cool pictures of animals.

I now know why this is called Blue Sky, because it's close to heaven.

Extremely similar to his previous film Shivers (which I watched this morning). If you prefer parasitic fuckboys, you'll like Shivers more. If you'd rather have a vaginal armpit kill people, Rabid's your bag.
Either way, David Cronenberg is the GOAT.

David Lynch, Auteur Drawn to the Dark and the Dreamlike, Dies at 78 With such hallucinogenic masterworks as 'Eraserhead,' 'Blue Velvet,' 'Mulholland Drive,' 'Twin Peaks' and 'The Elephant Man,' he often left more questions than answers.

We like to throw around the word "visionary" a lot, but rarely does it apply so seamlessly to an artist. David Lynch made some of the most bonkers surrealist art that ever managed to find a wide audience, and will be missed.
