Here's the bill in entirety. Transient rentals have evolved to the point where they are displacing long-term tenants and impacting the availability and affordability of our housing stock.

I was happy to visit the Statehouse on Wednesday to oppose Senate Bill 104 that would remove the ability of our local munis to regulate transient rentals.

The bill is a gross overreach of power that violates the tenements of home rule in Ohio and, if passed, would help destroy our neighborhoods.

A big shout out to Finance Director Jennifer Pae, City Engineer Kim Kerber, and Assistant Development Director Megan Otter for making it possible, and rolling out, a paving program that is 5 months early.

In the future we'll be boosting our street program so we can fix even more streets per year.

City Council will have a committee meeting Monday at 7pm in Council Chambers on the 3rd Floor of City Hall.

2/12/2025 at the Gemini (21225 Lorain Rd) the City will be holding a workshop geared toward establishing an in-house tax incentive program (Job Creation Tax Credit) for businesses in the city.

The JCTC is an incentive tool for municipalities to encourage businesses to increase payroll in a city.
