Well, it finally happened. I was in a room of writers, and we got onto books that we loathed, and I told her about one I recently disliked so much I sent photos of the worst-offending extracts to another novelist friend. Naturally she asks what it was + who by. I KNEW it wasn't hers, so I tell her -
