Probably not just because outside of single-user contexts (like a calculator) being able to construct and evaluate completely novel code is generally not smart security-wise lol

I wonder if there's any programming language where code itself (token streams or syntax trees) is a first-class object like on RPL calculators, rather than the “code as data” stuff being limited to very specific contexts (like macro expansion/comptime stuff)

Every time I see a clip from the original _How to Train Your Dragon_ (2010) movie I realize how much I dislike Jay Baruchel's voice acting. Is the movie actually good or do I only remember it because it has dragons in it?

I thought it would be just impossible to use with the completely different sets of keys on the HP-48 series vs the HP-42 series, but they did a good job of mapping the keys to the most similar DM42 keys so other than one or two, the keys you're used to pressing do pretty much what you expect

I love the 3DS' 3D still. While 3D is a gimmick everywhere it's showed up, it turns out that people actually like it if there's actually anything worthwhile available for it (see: 3D TVs)

Having a stable update flow for existing systems is just too hard, not like <every single other OS> manages it just fine or anything

The _No More Heroes_ rereleases are the only reason I even entertain the idea of pulling my Switch back out and even that's not enough to get me to actually pull it back out; I don't know what that says about Nintendo or the Switch as a console lol

I like the original use of the sticky bit (to always keep a file cached in memory even if it's not in use so it can be accessed quickly, for things like commonly-used executables) even though on modern computer architectures it makes little sense and as such doesn't do anything

Rust already has all the compile-time evaluation framework implemented for other stuff (macros and constexprs), it would not be a huge lift to just add a trivial routine hooking into the compiler to evaluate the truthiness of an expression on-demand lol

I love C11 static assertions, still perpetually irritating that Rust doesn't have them without janky hacks (or libraries implementing said janky hacks)

I don't understand people on smartphones taking a screenshot of a picture in their gallery and then sharing that. Clearly you know how to upload a picture from your gallery because you had to upload the screenshot, in which case why didn't you just upload the picture directly???

@void-mem-access.bsky.social Thanks! I have a 3DS but no plain DS flash cart so I might want someone to test on original hardware in the distant future

The DS has too much VRAM, without using 3D I don't know what to do with all this!

(I am being somewhat serious, with the GBA-style 2D graphics architecture but with nearly seven times the RAM available, it is an insane amount to utilize even with the new massive-size backgrounds and palettes)

With the DS' extra display, improved graphics hardware, and extra buttons I think this makes my game so much more feasible and I'm actually now very hopeful for completing it (Eventually™, I'm still familiarizing myself with the system, I've not even started porting what I already have over yet lol)
