Polluting countries need to get their act in order.
Last week’s ruling by the International Court of Justice said that governments must act to limiting global heating to 1.5 degrees Celsius. In the court’s words - a “clean, healthy and sustainable environment” is a human right.

Yesterday the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh and today Westminster CCA has lots of friendly local groups that hold climate vigils. If you would like to be part of our supportive and prayerful community get in touch. Our website has our contact details.

Yesterday we handed in a letter to the Government signed by 18 Christian organisations and denominations telling them that that must #StopRosebank. Now we will pray every week until a decision is made. Check our website for details.

Today 18 organisations representing over 250,000 UK Christians delivered a letter to the Government urging them to show the climate leadership that was promised in the Labour manifesto and #StopRosebank

Relieved it’s a bit cooler? A study published yesterday says one of the impacts of exceptional heat is rising food prices. Knock-on societal risks include increasing economic inequality, burden on health systems, destabilising monetary and political systems.

Over the weekend CCA Brighton visited Barclays. While there was humour in their message that Barclays must clean up their act, their underlying point was deadly serious. Barclays is failing on its climate responsibility.

Time for you to tell your local Barclays to clean up their act.

in the world around us, it's easy to forget that we are rapidly approaching a point of no return with regards to climate breakdown. Prayerful protest allows us to do what we can with our own hands and feet, and pass whatever else is needed over to God.

Today was the Climate Mass Lobby of Parliament and we held a vigil outside gates of Westminster.

Over 50 people attended the vigil, praying together in silence.

If we ever needed a miracle, now is the time. With so many horrific things needing our attention..

..that are already in the pipeline have very little chance of approval. So that will effectively be the end of new oil & gas in the UK!

In CCA, one of our key campaigns is the Stop Rosebank Oilfield Campaign. Rosebank is a key oil field to stop, because if a relatively advanced project like Rosebank is refused permission, then that will mean that the other 15 approved North Sea oil licenses..

Today CCA is with crowds outside Woolwich Crown Court where the Filton18 were having their hearing.

We are bringing the message that any attempt to criminalise peaceful direct action, including by mislabelling it as 'terrorism", has serious impacts on democracy and free speech..

..Being a Christian isn't just about getting our own house in order & ensuring we are blame-free, it's about being prophetic & transforming the world around us. Dropping a bank due to the destruction they fund, is a key way of saying that we will not stand for the suffering they inflict on the world

🙏 Please join us in praying for Bristol Cathedral and St Albans Cathedral as they review their banking policies. Both of these cathedrals currently bank with a bank which funds fossil fuels.

BREAKING 🚨: UK Government publishes new guidance that makes it harder to approve Rosebank.

The UK gov is finally forcing oil companies to come clean over the enormous harm they are doing to our climate – something that is long overdue.

The fight to #StopRosebank is heating up.

This is a shocking disregard for life. We need to drop fossil fuel banks and choose a bank which is creating the future we need

We held a banner at the Church Commissioners AGM today, as a way of urging the Church of England to bank with an ethical bank that does not fund fossil fuels.

This message is for the whole of the Anglican Church - for individual churches, right up to the Church Commissioners..
