I've gotten out of the habit of checking this place, alas. But hello, if you're seeing this.

Just enough, I'd say. :)

Ha! I didn't even realize that was a thing. :D Sorry for the confusion!

We're more than six months into Chicago 18 now, and I still am not used to capitalizing "from" and "with" in titles. Not even two years of editing mostly in APA or AMA can cure me of wanting thinking those two should be lowercased in titles.

I'd be hard-pressed to pick a particular clip at this moment, but I have always adored Robin Williams's An Evening at the Met. It's almost forty years old now, but it's just brilliant. (You can apparently watch the whole thing on YouTube.)

Jeffrey Goldberg thinking he was being pranked and then realizing he was actually just in the war plans group chat is such a good microcosm of how it feels to be alive right now, everything seems fake until you realize it’s actually real and incredibly stupid

Keep hearing reports of guys trusting ChatGPT’s output over experts or even actual documentation. Honestly feels like the AI Bubble’s hold over society has strengthened considerably over the past three months

chatgpt has fully broken-through to every facet of the corporate environment. I'm spending a not-insignificant amount of my time every week now explaining to people that just because chatgpt told you that something was possible doesn't mean that it a) is or b) even exists

Me, rewriting someone's cover text and looking up synonyms for "story." (I use "tale" and "journey" *a lot.*)

I finished a crocheted throw for myself last week. I've made lots things for other people, but mostly I don't make stuff for myself. I absolutely love this throw, though. I feel like, "Aww, somebody loves me," and that somebody is myself.

I need y'all to sit with this headline and understand what is being done to our community. They're trying to criminalize our very existence.

This is a campaign of eradication.

THIS IS HUGE! Researchers at Stanford University have developed a dual-antibody treatment that remains effective against ALL SARS-CoV-2 variants by targeting a less-mutable part of the virus. This breakthrough could lead to longer-lasting therapies that OUTPACE viral evolution. πŸ§ͺπŸ§΅β¬‡οΈ

Mostly? That aspect has a improved a lot since I have taken on more of a caregiver role in the last year or so. (Truth be told, though, if anyone NOT an older relative calls me "kiddo," it makes me feel absolutely murderous.)

β€˜Like a horror movie’: German tourist detained by ICE says she spent week in solitary confinement A German tourist is fighting to get released from an immigration detention center after she was denied entry at the San Diego border and taken into custody by ICE last month.

β€œShe says it was like a horror movie. They were screaming in different rooms”

I would argue no one should travel to the U.S. right now because it’s important to vote with your wallet. Don’t spend tourist dollars there

Another reason? The threat of being detained by ICE. It’s not safe in America
