Memory popped up that three years ago I began rereading Harry Potter. Finished all 7 books by the new year. Was my second or third time rereading all the way through. How long do I need to wait to do that again? In itching for a cozy holiday book series.

Esther and Moses form the boundaries of experiences with God between which we exist. Both called to stand before kings and deliver God’s people. God shows himself abundantly with one and is hidden in the other. Luther asked why we needed Esther. It’s for days God feels distant. Hiddenness ≠ Absence

Finishing up a sermon series on Esther tomorrow. Spent two weeks longer than initially planned on it. Has been the most difficult and most interesting sermon series I’ve worked through.
