This is amazing, an 'ice tsunami' in Norway.

It is so cold that the river freezes from the bottom and forms a dam. Eventually that will break (in this case 20km upstream) and this happens.

Well done - this is a little known unintended consequence of the law which I first came across through work @womensinstitute.bsky.social did to promote Women's Aid whole system approach manifesto in advance of last year's general election.

Elon Musk is starting to risk getting Jess Phillips killed. She's been safeguarding minister for six months. She oversaw nothing relating to the rape gangs. As an opposition MP she was one of the most prominent campaigners for the victims.

What he's doing is a travesty.

We stand with Gisèle Pelicot, who has endured the most appalling abuse and shown great bravery in waiving all anonymity to bring her abusers, including her own husband, to account for their crimes. This case has put a spotlight on the male violence against women that remains endemic. We continue to call for an to end this violence so that all women and girls are safe. Justice is now being done, and Gisèle's dignity, courage, and sense of duty to all and other survivors have shone like a beacon for women everywhere. We hope she now achieves peace and resolution.
