If we care about the people in these bodies, we must care enough to follow the biology. Not the buckets. Not the branding. Not the slogans.

Just the truth. However messy it is. (21/21)

It didnโ€™t. It just got quiet.

Letโ€™s make noise again. (18/18)

Because if youโ€™re not, you should probably stop calling yourself a truth-seeker.

And for everyone else reading this: The more you get infected, the more likely you are to join this invisible population. Long COVID isnโ€™t rare. Itโ€™s just buried.

Stop pretending this crisis ended. (17/18)

22.05.2025 11:28 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 63    ๐Ÿ” 11    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 1

We can even reach out to folks like Jerome Adams, Amy Proal, or the WHN co-founders. They might show up. Or maybe itโ€™s just me and two people living with long COVID, sharing what itโ€™s like to disappear from public life.

You up for that? (16/18)

22.05.2025 11:28 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 28    ๐Ÿ” 5    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

One for listening. Invite the people who live with this every day. Iโ€™ll help organize. We can ask members of the World Health Network to co-host. You can be the guest, or we can co-host together. We can keep it focused. No mud. No drama. Just people telling the truth about their lives. (15/18)

22.05.2025 11:28 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 34    ๐Ÿ” 2    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Ask the person who used to fix your sink but doesnโ€™t anymore. The reason you donโ€™t see them is because long COVID is an erasure machine. It deletes people from the visible world.

So, @therealtruther.bsky.social, hereโ€™s a challenge. Host a space on Twitter. Not one for debate. (14/18)

22.05.2025 11:28 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 34    ๐Ÿ” 4    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 1

Itโ€™s a virus that clings to your blood vessels, inflames your brain, messes with your heart, and leaves people too sick to live their lives.

You want to know how many people have it? Ask your mail carrier. Ask your kidโ€™s teacher. (13/18)

22.05.2025 11:28 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 45    ๐Ÿ” 4    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

And if your instinct is to tear down defenders instead of the virus, youโ€™ve already picked a sideโ€”and itโ€™s not ours.

Long COVID isnโ€™t some abstract idea. Itโ€™s vascular. Itโ€™s neurological. (12/18)

Then came another round, and that was it. Couldnโ€™t work anymore.

Thatโ€™s three stories right there. I didnโ€™t even have to look hard. These people didnโ€™t vanish. They were erased.

And thatโ€™s why Iโ€™m writing this.

Because lately Iโ€™ve seen folks like @therealtruther.bsky.social use their (10/18)

Sheโ€™s dropped from 105 pounds to 70. Weโ€™re trying to avoid a feeding tube. I donโ€™t talk about it much, but itโ€™s the hardest thing Iโ€™ve ever faced.

Long COVID isnโ€™t rare. Weโ€™re just not counting right.

I didnโ€™t even realize how common it was until I started asking around. (7/18)

But not everyone in my family was so lucky.

My oldest son and youngest daughter each got infected once. Thatโ€™s all it took. My daughter got sick after a K-pop concert. Something shifted. She had a pre-existing issue, but after that infection, it snowballed. (6/18)

We ended up in northern Vermont, on a little farm near the Canadian border. Found a community. Started homeschooling. Weโ€™ve kept our masks on. Got our vaccines. My wife, my son, and I still havenโ€™t had COVIDโ€”not even once. Thatโ€™s six years clean. (5/18)

Part of the trip included a sleeper train from the East Coast to the Bay Area, and a cross-country drive past Devilโ€™s Tower and the Badlands. It was magical. It was also terrifying. But we were trying to protect each other. (4/18)

If you didnโ€™t, itโ€™s because you were smart and chill.

I used to believe that too. At least a little. Then I started looking around.

Let me back up.

In early 2020, my family masked up fast. (2/18)

The More You Get Infected, the More Likely Youโ€™ll Get Long COVID

People still think long COVID is rare. Like it only happens to anxious people. Or people who โ€œdid it wrong.โ€ Like thereโ€™s some moral math to this. If you got sick, itโ€™s because you panicked too much. (1/18)

The presence of a nuclear-armed French submarine in Halifax suggests that some in the international community are already treating Canada as a state worth backing independently of U.S. interests. (9/9)

If Ottawa leans further into its own independent defense strategy, bolstered by European or Asian partners, Washington may view this as a threat to its dominance in North America.

The underlying question is whether the U.S. (7/9)

Franceโ€™s move also comes amid discussions about Canada potentially joining an expanded AUKUS (the U.S.-U.K.-Australia security pact). (6/9)
