This is what makes it stand out, that their is lore to explain the existence of how a all animal world would realistically function

the sequel is already showing that other non-mammals exist so its like this furry paradise has purposely excluded other animals from the city its crazy if you think about it

It's fascinating seeing other anthro media have no problem showing different species peacefully coexist

while with Zootopia everyone just fucking hates each other lol

I shouldn't give this guy attention, but literally everything he thinks is bad is just like change, he just doesn't like change lol

and everything you point out as bad, is just character development having the characters stay the same as the first movie wouldn't be interesting at all

there are new people but that's what happens when you make a sequel 9 years later, the directors have been involved with the creation of the franchise since the beginning

Rich Moore despite being the director of the first, was brought in pretty late into production

Jared Bush saw the ship and made the active decision to make the entire zootopia sequel revolve around making it official, and you can't convince me otherwise, especially after the second trailer

creators can always be influenced by the fans lol

These allusions to the partnership being romantic aren't coincidental it's symbolizing them growing to be more than just being friends

Given that this is a sequel to Zootopia, symbolism holds significance these aren’t just passing references its saying something.

the whole partner thing is a metaphor, the subtext is laying it on pretty thick, it's using the buddy cop movie framing to mask it, but there's no subtlety

cop therapy is a real thing, but zootopia's portrayal is straight out of a romcom

This has a lot to think about why he means by "family" for his reason to steal the book.

Is it his actual family or is that how he refers to his gang?

Because snakes are again, mostly solitary animals a lot of possibilities are open-ended here.

It's just possible that Gary is working with a secret cabal of reptiles that seek important information relating to zootopia's history, historical artifacts like the Weather Wall Book (which makes a few appearances in the trailer).

He's been charged before and incidentally all his charges are politically motivated which is so interesting.
