My take on Atlanta traffic is that Marie and I started dating in 2006 and I’d drive to Athens after work every other week for a while. Top end and Spaghetti Junction traffic at 2 pm on a Monday is exactly like I remember Friday 5:15 traffic twenty years ago.

Another thing Athens lacks: a great place for hot dogs. Brandi’s in Marietta GA remains the gold standard. This chili is lip-numbingly delicious.

Marie and I are remote workers, but we’re visiting our never-met-in-person teams in Chattanooga today! But first, snacks at Julie Darling Doughnuts.

Keeping the Fire Alive Black-owned barbecue restaurants have continued the whole-hog tradition and anchored their communities. There aren’t many left.

We’re in Cleveland TN, visiting pals we missed a couple of months ago. Supper’s at the excellent Lupi’s Pizza. We have some good pizza places in Athens, but for local ingredients, no grease, and a perfectly baked pie, none are in Lupi’s league.

Leaving Asheville on our way to our next stop, but grabbing some very good #BBQ for lunch at Luella’s first. Luella’s opened in 2007. I think I’ve eaten here four times and always been satisfied.

Supper tonight at Taco Temple in Asheville. I love this shredded chicken marinated in green chile sauce.

Marie found a treasure here. She always does. I found a bottle of Moxie at Rocket Fizz, which is probably not much of a treasure, honestly.

Asheville is completely packed this weekend, but we found a parking place and made it to Malaprop’s.

Sometimes you see a place from the interstate and turn around. This is Eurostor, a grocery store in Greenville, and it’s fantastic!

There’s a location of the steadily shrinking S & S Cafeteria in Greenville. Massive amounts of pretty good food for very nice prices. That chess pie is a work of art.

Thank heaven, for those of us with older cars and FM radio instead of internet, WUOG’s transmitter is, at long last, fixed.

My son made me go see Iron Lung. I left, utterly baffled about what the hell we watched, wandered in to the room where they’re showing Melania, shouted “Re-elect Senator Ossoff!” at the six whitehairs watching it, and felt better.

Chuck Negron, Three Dog Night Co-Founder Who Took Cover Songs to the Top, Dead at 83 Chuck Negron, one of the founding members and lead singer of rock hounds Three Dog Night, has died at 83.

RIP to Chuck Negron, who sang some good tunes, but more importantly was married to an old pal of mine and spent the last twenty years making her smile. Appreciate you, Chuck.

19 days after I notified a manager they should claim this page and remove my info, they'd done nothing. So I claimed it. I considered announcing 2-for-1 lobster rolls and backing the candidacy of Beelzebub A. Lucifer for Covington city council, but my better angels told me to just delete my email.

We went downtown to enjoy the snow, tip our server very well because bizness is slow today, and see that they’ve started work on the College Square redevelopment. That’s a pepper supreme from the Grill, one of my favorite burgers around.

All mocking aside, this line: people who disagree with him “just need to come on the same page with him,” this is the sad language of victims of abuse. It really is an awful thing to read.

Someone, please, make this offer in Athens. That doesn’t say “remain in seats SILENTLY.” I will take your money and watch your movie, mocking and riffing at maximum volume, bellowing I COULD HAVE FARTED A BETTER MOVIE THAN THIS and telling all the empty space in the room to re-elect Senator Ossoff.

Unless they specify you have to stay silent to get that $50, I’m tempted. I just need a Craigslist. If someone wants to pay me to loudly mock and riff this asinine movie, I can take that cash and donate it to Jon Ossoff’s reelection campaign.

Dear Media: people who vote for Donald Trump, especially after Jan 6, do not actually care about “following our nation’s laws.”

They’re just authoritarians.
Laws are to be used on the people they don’t like. History backs this up pretty hard.
